The following Ohio University Teen Community Standards should be followed on the Ohio STEAM sim and the Ohio Teen sim in the Teen Grid. Visitors should also follow applicable standards in the Teen Second Life Community Standards suggested by Linden Lab (http://teen.secondlife.com/footer/cs).

Community Standards for All Visitors

  • Clean up your temporary objects before you leave.
  • Do not build on areas not assigned to you.
  • Do not use inappropriate or foul language in chatting or instant messaging.
  • Do not build any weapon or inappropriate objects.
  • Do not rez any weapon, including "Popgun" and "Celtic Sword," from your inventory.
  • Use the assigned bulk STEAM accounts only by yourself and never share passwords with anyone else.

Community Standards for Middle School Students

  • Flying around is only permissible when explicitly stated by the instructor.
  • Students may only work on projects when an instructor is present. Students may not use this Second Life program at home.
  • Chat and Instant Messaging is to be about science. Do not be off topic.
  • Use the assigned bulk STEAM accounts only in school labs and only when asked to log on.
