Career Exploration exposes students to creative science projects that relate why science content is meaningful and how they might use it in the future. Students explore a 3D immersive world that contains obstacles that must completed by a virtual automobile to unlock images of members of the S.T.E.A.M. project. Once the images become visible, biographies can be accessed that include descriptions of the individual’s experience in science, summaries of their past (or present) projects and advice that they might have regarding higher education.
Description of the Science Content of the Module: Explores careers in science
Game Play: Handout sheets accompany Career Exploration while students are playing the games at their school. The questions on the sheet are prepared in a “scavenger-hunt” fashion. Students must explore the course to answer the questions on the handout sheet. Examples of these questions include; finding the correct person that lines up with a certain science experience, define different terms in the biographies that they might not be accustom to, or to identify the science experience of different STEAM members in the game.
